Grandma Faye's Ice Cream

Grandma and Grandpa used to throw a big party in their backyard on July 4th for family and friends. The cousins would take turns sitting on the bucket and turning the crank so we could have this ice cream for dessert. The above copy is in her handwriting, except for the date (that's mine) and the cream measurement (that's Mom's).

Corning Cousins Hand-Cranked Ice Cream

5 whole eggs, beat at low speed until foamy and well mixed.

Gradually add 1 1/2 cups sugar small amount at a time, while beating.

When thoroughly mixed add 2 pints heavy cream and 1 Tbsp. vanilla beating until well blended.

Pour mixture into wash can and fill up the can rest of the way with milk from bottle.

Add few grains of salt and put the lid on.
