Heaven in a pan!
Found the recipe on Gudrun's World. It's one of many recipes and quilt patterns in her new book Table Talk.

1-1/4 cup Sugar, divided
1 cup Flour
7 tbsp Cocoa, divided
2 tsp Baking Powder
1/4 tsp Salt
1/2 cup Milk
1/3 cup Butter, melted
1-1/2 tsp Vanilla Extract
1/2 cup packed Light Brown Sugar
1-1/4 cups Hot Water
Heat oven to 350°. Combine 3/4 cup sugar, 1 cup flour, 3 tbsp cocoa, baking powder and1/4 tsp. salt in a mixing bowl. Blend in milk, butter and vanilla. Beat until smooth. Pour batter into a square pan.
In a small bowl, combine remaining sugar (1/2 cup), remaining cocoa (4 Tbsp.) and 1/2 cup brown sugar. Sprinkle mixture over batter, evenly. Pour hot water over top, do not stir. Bake 40 minutes or until center is almost set. Let stand 15 minutes, spoon into dessert bowls, spooning sauce from bottom of pan over top. Serve with ice cream or whipped cream. 8-10 servings.
