Briggs Banana Cake

Kate served these banana bars last Saturday at Brigg's baptism.  They are so moist and yummy, I just had to have the recipe!  Thanks, Kate!

Cake:
½ cup butter
1 ½ cups sugar
2 eggs
¾ cup sour cream
2-4 ripe bananas
1 tsp. vanilla
2 cups flour (sifted)
1 tsp baking soda
½ tsp. salt
  • Cream butter and sugar
  • Mix in rest of wet ingredients
  • Mix dry ingredients
  • Add dry ingredient mixture to wet ingredients and incorporate
  • Pour into jelly roll pan (bake for 20 min) or 9x13 pan (bake for 30 min)
  • Bake at 350
Frosting:
8 oz cream cheese
1/2 cup butter
2TBS milk
pinch of salt
1 tsp vanilla
4 cups powdered sugar
  • Mix until combined and creamy. Spread over cooled bars/cake before cutting.
