Chocolate Crackle Cookies

Here's another page from my copy of Aunt Jill's cookbook. Diggin' the hair-do's of the 1980's! The recipe isn't actually in the cookbook, I just wrote it in there for safe-keeping one day when I was talking to Mom on the phone. Incidentally, this picture was taken in front of the living room window in our home in Suisun City and Mom made all our dresses out of different colored velveteen for Christmas

The recipe reads:

1 c. semi-sweet chocolate chips
1/3 c. oil
1 tsp. vanilla
1 tsp. baking powder
1 c. brown sugar
2 eggs
1 c. flour
1/4 tsp. salt
1/2 c. powdered sugar
1/2 c. chopped nuts

Melt chocolate chips (micro). Combine with sugar and oil Add eggs one at a time. Beat well. Add vanilla. Combine flour, baking powder and salt. Add to chocolate mixture. Stir in nuts. Shill dough. Roll dough into balls and coat in sugar. Cook on greased cookie sheet at 350 deg. for 9-10 minutes. Cool on pan 3-4 minutes.
