Sweet Rice Crispy Treats

It's no secret: I LOVE rice crispy treats. Look at all the fun things you can do with them! Below is a recipe that differs a bit from the one on the box- it's stickier and therefore, sweeter. Sherri Cook showed me how to make these first, into cute teddy bear shapes using those great silicone molds.

12 c. rice crispies (13 oz. box)
2 c. brown sugar
2 sticks butter
1 cup corn syrup
1 can sweetened condensed milk

Directions:
  1. Boil the brown sugar, butter and corn syrup for 3 minutes.
  2. Remove from heat.
  3. Add the can of milk. Boil an additional 3 minutes.
  4. Pour over the rice crispies and mix well.
  5. Spray nonstick cooking spray into mold, only for the first time of each batch.
  6. Fill mold with mix, remove from mold imeediately. Place on wax paper.
  7. Decorate with mini-chocolate chips, red hots, mini-marshmallows or whatever!

Now, try Jazzy Rice Crispy Treats. It's easy! Use your standard Rice Krispy Treat recipe. Just add a packet of unsweetened Kool-Aid drink mix to the melted marshmallows before stirring in the puffed rice. Even better, make two batches with two different flavors. When you press the mixture into the pan, marble the two flavors. The mix is fun to eat and pretty see. (Mermaids of the Lake)

...or these cute Krispie Cones! This was super DUPER easy. It’s the rice krispies treat recipe, then you scoop it in a cone while it’s still warm, put a little dab of melted chocolate on top and a red M&M “cherry” to finish it off. Viola! Rice Cream Cones! (Holly Doodle Designs)
