This recipe came from my sister, Kate. She
got it from her mother-in-law, Caroline Rober, who got it from her mother,
Irene. Caroline has since passed away, but she shared with us that while her
kids were still living at home, she could tell them to "go make a batch of
cookies" and they'd go whip these up from memory. This recipe is not only
simple, but has become a staple in our house because it consistently turns out
classic chocolate chip cookies, no matter who makes 'em.
I am including my scanned copy of the recipe
that I wrote down on a notepad, while my sister dictated, for nostalgic
reasons.
Apparently, my grandmother Neola, also had a similar recipe. Great minds think alike!
