
Put in small bowl:
1/2 c. warm water
1 Tbsp. honey
1 Tbsp. yeast
Put in a large bowl:
1 tsp. salt
3 Tbsp. honey
1/4 c. butter or margarine
2 c. hot water
When this has cooled to lukewarm, stir in 2/3 c. milk powder and yeast mixture. Vigorously stir in 6 1/2 cups whole wheat flour. Let rest covered 30 minutes. Stir down and let rest covered 30 minutes. Stir down and let rest covered another 30 minutes. Turn out and knead 3-5 minutes. Return to oiled bowl. Let rise in warm spot 45 minutes or until double. Gently punch down. Form into 2 loaves. Place in buttered loaf pans (8 1/2 x 4 1/2 x 2 1/2) Let rise until double. Bake at 375 deg. about 35-45 minutes. Tap bottoms to see if they sound hollow.
