Hearty Oven Baked Stew


Although I'm sure Grandma Neola used to throw this in a roaster and head out to work on the property for hours, I'm sure this could be done in a crock pot, too.
2 pounds stew meat, cubed
4 potatoes, peeled and cubed
1 pkg. dry onion soup mix
1 can cream of mushroom soup
4 carrots, peeled and cubed
1 can tomato sauce
1 can cream of celery soup

In a large roaster or casserole dish, combine meat, vegetables, tomato sauce, onion soup mix, celery soup and mushroom soup. Fill soup cans with water and add to mixture. Stir until blended. Cover and bake at 275 degrees for 5-8 hours. Makes 6 servings.
